8 Revolutions in modern dental practice

Writer's picture: Chris BarrowChris Barrow

In 2023 I wrote about 5 revolutions that I saw happening in modern Dental Practice.

Last night in Pitlochry, Perthshire I was delighted to speak at the first InfinityBlu Study Club evening for Chris Barrowman and spend a couple of hours talking to an audience of his hygienists, therapists and associates on the dental landscape for this year, moments of truth in the patient experience and innovation.

With that in mind, I had decided to revisit my revolutions list and realised that this had expanded to a total of 8 major changes that I see making a difference to the way that patients experience dentistry and the way that teams and clinicians deliver.

One of the key characteristics of those practices who survive and prosper in the current Labour-driven economic cycle will be those who are at the very front of the adoption cycle, looking for innovation, agile, ready to pivot as circumstances change.

The exciting news is that the 8 revolutions to which I refer below will give those who choose to welcome and embrace change the opportunity to not only weather the storms ahead but evolve and grow.

As well as listing my revolutions below, I also share with you a PDF version that you might find helpful in conversation with your teams and clinicians.

Ask yourself this question-how many of these revolutions are you FULLY taking part in?
