Falling back in love with your dental business: from stale to thriving again

Writer: Chris BarrowChris Barrow

I meet dental practice owners whose relationship with their own business has become like a stale marriage.

It was all romance and excitement at the beginning, but the drudgery of turning up every day and grinding through the responsibilities has removed the spark.

You love your business but you're not in love with it, and unlike a marriage, there is no likelihood that it's every going to be in love with you.

That can be a very lonely place.

The signs are always there:

  • The place hasn't been refurbished and it's looking tired.

  • Same story for the branding.

  • The team look like they have been in the trenches for a long time and deserve some leave (or maybe a battle worth fighting).

  • The numbers aren't quite adding up anymore;

  • There's no innovation.

What to do?

No different from any other recovery programme:

  1. Recognise that you have a problem (that can be the toughest step);

  2. Decide to do something about it;

  3. Get help from someone who knows how to take you on the recovery journey;

  4. Begin the journey.

    If you are heading in to your own business this morning, thinking "same sh*t, different day - I'm not loving this", you need to message me.

    I have a track record of helping people to fall back in love with their business, and I'll happily offer you a confidential and complimentary session, free from judgement.
