The Extreme Business 31-day March Marketing Campaign©: turning white space into growth opportunities

During the middle of February, and in recognition of the fact that a number of clients were sharing with me their concerns about white space in the diary, we decided to take action and turn March into a marketing month.

I make no apology for asking ChatGPT to take a look at the profile of my client base and then come up with a 31-day marketing campaign that embraced Extreme Business principles and also suggested activity that would cover both internal, inbound and external marketing activities.

Having shared that marketing campaign with the Extreme Business community in the middle of the month, we then set up a specific WhatsApp group in which clients could share their ideas and questions.

I'm delighted to say that the party kicked off last Saturday and I'm already waking each morning in order to see examples of marketing collateral and activity that are being shared on the group.

For example, yesterday we had a "patient of the day" campaign in which chosen patients were presented with a small gift and then photographed with the appropriate consent to share that across social media platforms.

It's such a simple idea and yet generates a huge amount of goodwill. It's engaging for the patients and for the team as well.

"Patient of the day" is just one of 31 activities that will take place this month and I'm really excited to see how this develops.

If I may remind you of The Eisenhower Matrix, marketing is often treated as a quadrant 2 activity – important but not urgent – and therefore gets forgotten in the mad rush of daily firefighting.

What we have done in March is to make marketing a quadrant 1 activity – important and urgent – and even four days in we are beginning to see positive results. I'm fascinated to see how this evolves.
