I started yesterday's conference by popping this slide up and explaining that every time the phrase was used, there would be a 500 rupee "fine" - with all proceeds going to charity.
After day #1, we have raised no money at all.
Which is exactly what I expected.
Of course, it could equally have related to - "this will never work in:
England;
Scotland;
Wales;
Northern Ireland;
My city;
My town;
My village;
My practice.
The same objections, rolled out over 30 years, about your patients being somehow different.
They are no different.
Of course, many patients (around the world) are price sensitive - but we have techniques to deal with that - you just need to learn and perfect the techniques, believing that what you are doing is business-class, ethical, appropriate, affordable and makes a positive difference.
As always, in my audience of 60 and another 25+ online, there is a majority who arrived with the narrative that "you can't do that in India" (I'm chipping away at them - no fines yet) and a minority who have just gotten along and done it.
